"An aging romance artist who’s down on her luck gets the surprise of a lifetime on the shore of Lake Michigan."
Merwaukee was completed in May, 2017, at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, as my grad film. It was one of five animated films to be honored in the Best-of portion of "The Show" graduation showcase. Merwaukee is currently in the 2017/2018 film festival circuit, and premiered at the Supernova Digital Animation Festival in Denver, Colorado. Solo exhibition by Vancouver-based fine artist, Howie Tsui.
I worked on a team of several student animators to create detailed character animations based on Howie's elaborate keyframe drawings. We used TV Paint and Photoshop for frame-by-frame animation, and After Effects for puppet animation. The show was exhibited at Vancouver Art Gallery from March 4th to May 28th, 2017, and continues to tour galleries across the world.
